Like fine artisans, we find God in the details. We apply only the most exacting standards to your publication, website and collateral without losing site of the big picture: the soul of your brand. And we'll make sure the project gets to the press or online in time. The only thing we don't do well is Gregorian chant.

The Principal
Hello, I'm Miguel Buckenmeyer and I founded the studio in 2007 as way to do what I love: helping companies turn their vision, values and content into genuine works of art. Most recently, I was the creative force and art director behind El Economista, the Spanish business newspaper launched in 2006 that was named a World's Best-Designed Newspaper™ by the Society of News Design.

I've had the privilege of working closely with some of the world's best journalists and designers as a consultant or on staff of companies such as The New York Times, The Washington Post and El Mundo (Madrid) and have been a team member of numerous editorial consulting projects the world over. My individual and collaborative work in journalism design and has won a variety of awards from the Society of News Design (SND), the Society of Publication Designers (SPD) and the Type Directors Club (TDC).

Given my academic studies, my career as a designer is sheer serendipity. I graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a degree in politics and hold a master's degree in international relations and finance from Georgetown University. In spite of stints in banking and international affairs, I was led to design thanks to the passion, devotion and brilliance of several teachers, mentors and friends: Tregg Binkley, John McCartney, James Collier, Rodrigo Sanchez and Kelly Doe.
